Galaxy S24 Ultra will exclusively feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor. In the Vulkan GPU compute test conducted by Geekbench 6, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 achieved a remarkable score of over 15,000 points. This represents a dramatic 60% increase compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s GPU score of 9,000 points in the same test. While Geekbench’s GPU compute score may not provide the most precise assessment of a chip’s graphical capabilities, it does indicate the upgraded performance relative to other chips tested using the same methodology.

Leaked details of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 reveal

that it is expected to be a 4nm octa-core chip manufactured by TSMC. It comprises one ARM Cortex-X4 CPU core, five ARM Cortex-A720 CPU cores, and two Cortex-A520 CPU cores. Additionally, it is equipped with the Adreno 750 GPU featuring hardware ray-tracing acceleration. Previous reports have suggested that the new Qualcomm chip will deliver an impressive 50% improvement in GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Samsung has gained valuable insights from the Galaxy S23 series, particularly in implementing the large vapor chamber heat dissipation mechanism. It is expected that the South Korean company will build upon this technology to ensure excellent sustained performance with the Galaxy S24 series. The performance of the Exynos 2400 chip relative to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 remains to be seen. Should overheating or significant performance disparities arise with the Exynos 2400 chip, it would tarnish the company’s reputation.
